Another Richard Alpert? The Locke/Ilana Theory

Ben laid out a precedent two nights ago by saying that dead is dead. Nobody comes back from that. If we take that to be true, then can Locke be considered alive? My thoughts: no. So here's the conundrum: How/Who/What is Locke? To me, he seems more informed about the island. For instance, he now knows about where Smokey resides and his demeanor has changed. He's almost cryptic, much more confident, calmer, and, dare I say it, almost divine. Here's my thought: he's become like another Richard Alpert. He's connected to the island in a way most aren't. He won't age because he exists outside of time. Ok, there's that. Here's another idea: Locke is only alive ON the island. Off the island, he is 100 percent dead. He is the first of his kind: a flesh and blood apparition of the island much like Christian (or recently Alex) except with a physical presence. We must consider, too, that Christian is able to touch and interact with things, so Locke could just be another Christian-figure. Also, make of this what you will, but they never showed Alex and Locke in the same shot. Intriguing, right? Final Locke theory: Ben was totally wrong. The island can come bring people back from the dead. Moving on: Ilana looks a bit like Richard (well, more than a bit). Her behavior in this last episode suggests that she has a purpose on the island and is at least informed about the island. Could she be, as many have theorized about Richard, an original inhabitant of the island? It's certainly an exciting possibility. I suppose the point of this post is to make you question whether or not Richard is really the only one of his kind. I think the obvious answer to that is no. The real questions is whether we're seeing another of Richard's kind on the island right now. Of course, we'll have to wait to see Richard meet the new Locke and Ilana.
