Namaste Summary
We start out with a flashback to the 316 plane crash. Frank lands the plane on the same runway they were building in season three. Frank, Sun, and Ben are all still alive, but Jack, Hurley, Kate, and Sayid are missing. Then, we flash to Sawyer greeting them. Jin learns that Sun was with them on the plane and hurries off to find Radzinsky to check for the plane crash. Sawyer, with the help of Juliet (who has been looking for him), manages to make Jack, Kate, and Hurley into new recruits. They don new seventies clothes and, with "Dharma Lady" and other popular music playing, they go into the recruiting station where (gasp!) Jack meets Pierre Chang and is assigned as a Workman. Kate is helped out of a sticky situation by Juliet, and we can tell that tension is already brewing. Back with the 316ers, Sun and Frank follow Ben into the jungle (we discover they are on the second, smaller island fan-known as Alcatraz). Sun asks Ben where to look for her husband and he says there's a small dock where they can start looking. Sun knocks him out and she and Frank head across. As far as our two newcomers, Ilana and Ceasar, Ceasar is being a rather disruptive anti-Frank man who urges the fresh new batch of easily disposable backgrounders (fondly known as Log-Carrying Guys). Ceasar urges them to search abandoned buldings (the Hydra station) and look for a radio. Frank and Sun meet Christian at a trashed and abandoned Dharma barracks (we also get a tiny glimpse of Smokey!!) and Christian shows them a picture of 1977 new Dharma recruit picture. Sun is shocked and Christian tells him they have a journey ahead of them. Meanwhile, Sayid has been found and Radzinksy thinks he's a Hostile. Jin and Sawyer are forced to scramble to cover up for him, landing Sayid in a jail cell. Jack questions Sawyer's leadership, but Sawyer puts him in his place by telling Jack that Jack never led, he just reacted. The episode ends with Sayid meeting a young Ben.
